Pillar Guide 01

Ordering &
Sequencing

For designers and architects, sequencing is as important as selection. This guide shows how to align submittals, approvals, and fixture orders with the critical path so the design intent survives into installation.

Start With the Longest Lead Items

Build the order around the products with the slowest lead times, custom finishes, or special fabrication. That usually means steam systems, custom shower systems, specialty faucets, and cabinetry hardware — not the easy-to-source pieces.

Once those anchor items are selected, the rest of the package can be sequenced around them. That keeps the project moving without forcing trades to wait on a single missing component.

Order in the Right Sequence

1. Finalize rough-ins

Confirm valve locations, drain positions, and electrical requirements before anything is ordered.

2. Lock the core fixtures

Toilets, tubs, sinks, and shower systems should be selected next so the layout can be confirmed.

3. Add trim and accessories

Match handles, finishes, and accessories after the core fixtures are approved.

4. Place the final order

Group everything together so shipping and receipt checking are easier on the jobsite.

What to Confirm Before You Order

  • •Exact model numbers and finish codes
  • •Valve and trim compatibility
  • •Lead time for standard vs. custom finishes
  • •Shipping address and jobsite receiving requirements
  • •Who is approving submittals and when

How PGKB Helps Sequencing Stay on Track

We review your spec set, confirm availability, and flag anything that could slow the build before the order is placed. That means fewer substitutions, fewer surprises, and a cleaner handoff to the trade.
